The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christopher Fortmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gerichtsberg's Benjamin Heine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Gerichtsberg from getting a goal against them. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, Gerichtsberg's Dominik Prommersberger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simon Diem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Thiessen in the 25th minute of play forced VAN DIJK's goalkeeper Simon Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Diem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Thiessen in the 29th minute of play. Colin Meuleners received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Benjamin Heine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moritz Schmeisser hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Waldemar Mügge took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benjamin Heine. Gerichtsberg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half Gerichtsberg were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dominik Prommersberger was the one to do the kick off. Benjamin Heine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlo Meidel in the 51st minute of the match. From close distance Robert Thiessen pressed in the 0-2 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 55 minutes into the game. Robert Thiessen might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simon Diem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Thiessen ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 61 minutes, Christopher Fortmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VAN DIJK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christopher Fortmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christopher Fortmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Heine having to interfere. If Christopher Fortmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Gerichtsberg getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Fabian Traintinger hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christopher Fortmann in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Heine saved Gerichtsberg from getting behind. Benjamin Heine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christopher Fortmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Colin Meuleners had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malte Partsch charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Malte Partsch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of VAN DIJK booed when Gerichtsberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malte Partsch didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Colin Meuleners had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabian Traintinger's late challenge caught a VAN DIJK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabian Traintinger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, Gerichtsberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Traintinger to maneuver through the defense. Benjamin Heine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christopher Fortmann in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to VAN DIJK getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Christopher Fortmann hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the match, Christopher Fortmann notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gerichtsberg's Benjamin Heine. Benjamin Heine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gerichtsberg had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
