The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Lojewski got free with Ralf Mallinger in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marius Gagelmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerrit-Alexander Goldhorn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marius Gagelmann ran back to his position shaking his head. Claus Schwärzler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerrit-Alexander Goldhorn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Gerrit-Alexander Goldhorn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claus Schwärzler in the 45th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman Grundmann during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 1-1 became the score in the 47th minute when Marius Gagelmann elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

FC Thüringen's Claus Schwärzler got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Morstalling's goalkeeper Gerrit-Alexander Goldhorn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marius Gagelmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Gerrit-Alexander Goldhorn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rdth minute of the game Claus Schwärzler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Morstalling's Gerrit-Alexander Goldhorn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marius Gagelmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Thüringen were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Morstalling to leave the ground with a draw.
