With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Hendrik Cuypers in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jochen Burkhardt saved FC Levanti from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Bergheim FSV's zone, Anton Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Vortkamp came out of the goal and Anton Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 minutes, Benjamin Plappert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bergheim FSV and the FC Levanti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bergheim FSV's Benjamin Plappert got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The FC Levanti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jochen Burkhardt should have stopped the shot. Jochen Burkhardt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Hendrik Cuypers in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Sven-Hendrik Cuypers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergheim FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Hendrik Cuypers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
