Steven Schuster charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steven Schuster the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sova's Steven Schuster got a free kick in the 4th minute. Michael Freund got a throw-in 6 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jan-Benedikt Neudorf. Sova's Michael Freund quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joshua Prause, made in the 8th minute of the game. In the 21st match minute, Bergheim FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis-Sven Pupeter to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Sven-Hendrik Cuypers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bergheim FSV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Ulrich Schwärzler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Tim Vortkamp made a huge save. In the 31st minute Ulrich Schwärzler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Vortkamp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filippo Guerini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urs Stein in the 32nd minute of play. Sven-Hendrik Cuypers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Filippo Guerini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Peter Brochtrop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the game, Peter Brochtrop was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bergheim FSV the free kick. In the 40th minute, Peter Brochtrop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 minutes of play, Sova's Nils Bottcher made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Vortkamp was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Nils Bottcher came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Sova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils Bottcher couldn't finish the play.

Bernd Backesdorf's late challenge caught a Bergheim FSV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernd Backesdorf helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, Sova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernd Backesdorf to maneuver through the defense. Sova's Filippo Guerini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Sova from getting a goal against them. Ulrich Schwärzler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulrich Schwärzler took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tim Vortkamp. Tim Vortkamp dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Dennis-Sven Pupeter kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Bergheim FSV's Tim Vortkamp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulrich Schwärzler in the 70th minute of play. Nils Bottcher might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tim Vortkamp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nils Bottcher ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 minutes of play, Sova's Ulrich Schwärzler made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Vortkamp was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th minute, Urs Stein ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filippo Guerini was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. A collision led to Bergheim FSV getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Dennis-Sven Pupeter hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Filippo Guerini successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 87 minutes into the match, Ulrich Schwärzler notched a goal, 6-3, to the right of Bergheim FSV's Tim Vortkamp. Tim Vortkamp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Urs Stein blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Filippo Guerini having to make a save. 94 minutes into the match, Sova's Ulrich Schwärzler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Vortkamp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timo Meier in the 95th minute of play forced Sova's goalkeeper Filippo Guerini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
