The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Peter Kitzbichler took the kick off in the first half of the match. Hartmut Meier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernd Unterligauer in the 17th minute of the match. Hartmut Meier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Neher in the 19th minute of play. Sebastian Neher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hartmut Meier having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Nikolas Stotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaus Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Kitzbichler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of SK Sturm II booed when Wattens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thorsten Machura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hartmut Meier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernd Unterligauer in the 30th minute of play. Wattens's Hartmut Meier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernd Unterligauer in the 31st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thorsten Machura during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wattens's Thorsten Machura got a free kick in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Neher's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hartmut Meier was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Wattens's Hartmut Meier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Neher in the 38th minute of play. When Thorsten Machura was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernd Unterligauer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hartmut Meier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Neher in the 51st minute. Andy Joppe charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andy Joppe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wattens booed when SK Sturm II was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andy Joppe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Till Harloff came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the SK Sturm II fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Till Harloff couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Wattens's goal looked a bit too open when Bernd Unterligauer came free, but Hartmut Meier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Helmar Uedickoven's late challenge caught a SK Sturm II's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Helmar Uedickoven helped the player get up and apologised. Helmar Uedickoven hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Dustin de Raaf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Klaus Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dustin de Raaf, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Sebastian Neher managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Sturm II's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Neher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hartmut Meier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernd Unterligauer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hartmut Meier having to make a save. Wattens's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Sebastian Neher scored to the left of an out of position Hartmut Meier, making the score, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Dustin de Raaf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wattens's supporters rose to their feet, but Dustin de Raaf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaus Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Till Harloff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hartmut Meier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael-Jan Thurnberger, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Sebastian Neher managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Sturm II's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Neher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hartmut Meier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SK Sturm II's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
