Luis Ballik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Matthäus Fischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Red Bull Salzburg's Luis Ballik got a free kick in the 11th minute. Boven FC's Herbert Rütten got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th play minute Raphael Kreiner came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matthäus Fischer. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florian Schmithuysen in the 23rd minute of play forced Red Bull Salzburg's goalkeeper Jens Gaertner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphael Kreiner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthäus Fischer having to make a save. Florian Schmithuysen might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jens Gaertner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florian Schmithuysen ran back to his position shaking his head. Jens Gaertner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Schmithuysen in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Luis Ballik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Red Bull Salzburg's zone, Florian Schmithuysen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jens Gaertner came out of the goal and Florian Schmithuysen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 38 played minutes Red Bull Salzburg got a freekick which was hit by Luis Ballik. Boven FC's Florian Schmithuysen got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jens Gaertner came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Boven FC's Herbert Rütten. But to his dismay, Herbert Rütten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 48th minute, 刘扬冰 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raphael Kreiner to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Herbert Rütten fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 59th minute, Luis Ballik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Florian Schmithuysen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Herbert Rütten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jens Gaertner. Red Bull Salzburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herbert Rütten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 76 minutes into the match, 刘扬冰 notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Boven FC's Matthäus Fischer. Matthäus Fischer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Florian Schmithuysen struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jens Gaertner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boven FC. The supporters of Boven FC booed when Red Bull Salzburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Ballik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herbert Rütten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Gaertner having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Red Bull Salzburg got a freekick which was hit by Steven Hampen. In the 97th minute, Anton Brunck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Red Bull Salzburg were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Boven FC for a fine match.
