With his leg Antony Swain managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Dynamo 93's Doug Whitford fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 10th match minute, Shelfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Eyre to maneuver through the defense. Ralph Nicholson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antony Swain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Ralph Nicholson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Antony Swain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Richard Layfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Antony Swain successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 22 minutes, Michael Eyre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shelfield and the Dynamo 93 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, Shelfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Eyre to maneuver through the defense. Doug Whitford's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Antony Swain skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralph Nicholson in the 33rd minute of play forced Shelfield's goalkeeper Antony Swain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Kristopher Bridge fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dynamo 93's protests and gave Kristopher Bridge a yellow card for diving instead. Doug Whitford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Doug Whitford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonny Herring made a kick off. Jonny Herring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Shelfield's Antony Swain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralph Nicholson in the 60th minute of play. Antony Swain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralph Nicholson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Jamal Castledine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shelfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Jamal Castledine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barrie Perkins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Love Jesus's late challenge caught a Shelfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Love Jesus helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Shelfield booed when Dynamo 93 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Love Jesus didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 played minutes Dynamo 93 got a freekick which was hit by Phil Tindale. If Doug Whitford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Ralph Nicholson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dynamo 93 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.
