Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Andy Ingham started the match with the kick off. Andy Ingham struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Mattias Ashton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wheaton Aston City. Crosby's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Andy Ingham scored to the left of an out of position Mattias Ashton, making the score, 1-0. If Curtis Pitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crosby's Mattias Ashton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Ingham in the 16th minute of play. Andy Ingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andy Ingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Ashton having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Wheaton Aston City's Curtis Pitt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Mattias Ashton made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Huey Vaughn sent off a good shot on target. Andy Ingham struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Mattias Ashton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wheaton Aston City. Andy Ingham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Crosby's goalkeeper Mattias Ashton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Huey Vaughn. Mattias Ashton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Ingham in the 37th minute of play. Mattias Ashton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Ingham in the 48th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wally Locking was the one to do the kick off. If Curtis Pitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crosby's Mattias Ashton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Curtis Pitt in the 64th minute of play. If Curtis Pitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Curtis Pitt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wheaton Aston City's supporters rose to their feet, but Curtis Pitt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Ashton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 68 played minutes Crosby got a freekick which was hit by Wally Locking. After some careless play in the Crosby defense, Andy Ingham kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mattias Ashton. The Crosby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mattias Ashton should have stopped the shot. Andy Ingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Ashton having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Crosby's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Ingham came free, but Mattias Ashton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Curtis Pitt in the 77th minute of play forced Crosby's goalkeeper Mattias Ashton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Andy Ingham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Ashton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattias Ashton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Ingham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Crosby's Mattias Ashton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Ingham in the 82nd minute of play. Wheaton Aston City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Brett Dawson in the 84th minute. The corner ended in Brett Dawson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Crosby's Mattias Ashton did a great save. Curtis Pitt hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Curtis Pitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mattias Ashton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Ingham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Crosby's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Ingham came free, but Mattias Ashton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sean Glasby kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Andy Ingham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wheaton Aston City walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
