The crowd rose to their feet as Blair Le Tissier kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Colin Caine. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. A hard shot by Gareth Le Saux from long distance, 9 minutes into the match, got Colin Caine's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 12 minutes into the match, Liverpool F.C.'s goalkeeper Colin Caine had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Howard Pryor. Howard Pryor took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Colin Caine. Colin Caine dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some careless play in the SJL Tigers defense, Keith Thornton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brandon Grantham. The SJL Tigers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brandon Grantham should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd match minute, SJL Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Heywood to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Howard Pryor got free with Colin Caine in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Colin Lynch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute Blair Le Tissier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Colin Caine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Liverpool F.C.'s Colin Caine got control of the ball when Howard Pryor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Keith Thornton kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Blair Le Tissier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Colin Caine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colin Lynch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Grantham having to interfere. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Liverpool F.C.! The goalkeeper, Colin Caine, was totally fooled by SJL Tigers's Gareth Le Saux, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Colin Lynch struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Brandon Grantham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool F.C.. Colin Caine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blair Le Tissier in the 60th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Liverpool F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Howard Pryor came free, but Colin Caine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keith Thornton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brandon Grantham having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Zackary Hardy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Liverpool F.C. defense, Blair Le Tissier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Colin Caine. The Liverpool F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Colin Caine should have stopped the shot. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. SJL Tigers were victorious despite being under pressure from Liverpool F.C. for much of the match.
