Bob Leather might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zane Beerman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bob Leather ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute, Gavin Eyre made a precise shot to the right of Basil Cornish. Skipton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Skipton's Kyle Ashton got a free kick in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Reeve in the 37th minute of play forced Skipton's goalkeeper Basil Cornish to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Marston in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Zane Beerman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Leather, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The audience was convinced that Bob Leather's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zane Beerman was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. Skipton walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
