With his leg Jermaine Laycock managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Lancing AFC's Pierce Armstrong fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Santa Coloma FC's Jermaine Laycock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Coloma FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Lancing AFC booed when Santa Coloma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan Bridgewater didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierce Armstrong might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jermaine Laycock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pierce Armstrong ran back to his position shaking his head. Ray Hales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lancing AFC's Pierce Armstrong got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ray Hales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Ray Hales made a precise shot to the right of Jermaine Laycock. Santa Coloma FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ray Hales to make the kick off. Pierce Armstrong struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Jermaine Laycock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lancing AFC. Jermaine Laycock stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ray Hales's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santa Coloma FC's goalkeeper Jermaine Laycock, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Santa Coloma FC's Jermaine Laycock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ray Hales in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Santa Coloma FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ray Hales came free, but Jermaine Laycock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jermaine Laycock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierce Armstrong in the 70th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Pierce Armstrong left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lancing AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. If Pierce Armstrong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierce Armstrong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jermaine Laycock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 79 minutes, Miles Wildman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lancing AFC and the Santa Coloma FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Lancing AFC got a freekick which was hit by Miles Wildman. Lancing AFC's Pierce Armstrong got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Santa Coloma FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pierce Armstrong came free, but Jermaine Laycock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ray Hales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jermaine Laycock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Ray Hales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lancing AFC's Ron Briant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Allott in the 96th minute of play. Lancing AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
