Tewkesbury's Barney Dimmock got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denzil Alsop in the 23rd minute of play forced Santa Coloma FC's goalkeeper Jermaine Laycock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, one of Santa Coloma FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Santa Coloma FC. If Barney Dimmock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jermaine Laycock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denzil Alsop, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Carl Harrison kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Denzil Alsop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Jermaine Laycock made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Barney Dimmock sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santa Coloma FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ted Edmonton was slow to take the kick. During this time Tewkesbury's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Santa Coloma FC's goalie and right to Ronnie Smith. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Santa Coloma FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 61st minute, Denzil Alsop made a precise shot to the right of Jermaine Laycock. Santa Coloma FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Denzil Alsop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Santa Coloma FC's Jermaine Laycock got control of the ball when Barney Dimmock tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute Denzil Alsop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Laycock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tewkesbury's Denzil Alsop saw an opening behind the goalie Jermaine Laycock in the 68thth minute and tried to shoot past into the top right corner, but with great reflexes Jermaine Laycock with one arm managed to save the shot in the last secound. Barney Dimmock's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jermaine Laycock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Barney Dimmock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Jermaine Laycock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Greenwood hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Denzil Alsop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jermaine Laycock was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Sidney Groom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurence Allott, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Tewkesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Stone came free, but Sidney Groom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tewkesbury's Sidney Groom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owen Berryman in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 93 minutes, Laurence Allott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Coloma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence Allott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Owen Berryman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidney Groom. Tewkesbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Owen Berryman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tewkesbury eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
