Darren Furniss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Leather, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Skipton booed when F.C. Copenhagen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donald Saunders didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute of the match Olly Weeks sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Darren Furniss skillfully saved the ball. In the 19th minute, Donald Saunders hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bob Leather had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darren Furniss didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Marston went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Skipton's Basil Cornish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jude Marriott in the 27th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Copenhagen's zone, Christian Farmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darren Furniss came out of the goal and Christian Farmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Darren Furniss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Marston, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Tom Grigg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Bob Leather shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Furniss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darren Furniss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Leather in the 49th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of F.C. Copenhagen booed when Skipton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Farmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tom Grigg struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Basil Cornish didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C. Copenhagen. 57 minutes into the match, F.C. Copenhagen's goalkeeper Darren Furniss had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Marston. 59 minutes into the match, F.C. Copenhagen's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Leather came free, but Darren Furniss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephen Leather kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. F.C. Copenhagen's Darren Furniss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Leather in the 63rd minute of play. After 66 minutes, Walter Dingle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Copenhagen and the Skipton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Walter Dingle kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Patrick Marston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Furniss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Marston had several of the F.C. Copenhagen's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 69 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Darren Furniss as he didn't even see the shot coming. Patrick Marston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Darren Furniss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bob Leather recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick Marston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Darren Furniss stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bob Leather's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Basil Cornish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Grigg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to F.C. Copenhagen getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Grant Gould hit a great ball. Patrick Marston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Darren Furniss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darren Furniss stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bob Leather's shot from short distance in the 98th minute.
