Tom Grigg might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidney Groom. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tom Grigg ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Jude Marriott managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Copenhagen's supporters rose to their feet, but Jude Marriott was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidney Groom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tewkesbury's Sidney Groom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jude Marriott in the 18th minute of play. Kirk Spencer kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Barney Dimmock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 35 minutes into the game, Barney Dimmock cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Darren Furniss was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Grigg in the 40th minute of play forced Tewkesbury's goalkeeper Sidney Groom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Tom Grigg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Groom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jude Marriott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Sidney Groom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, F.C. Copenhagen's Donald Saunders nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sidney Groom made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jude Marriott to strike the kick off in the second half. When Barney Dimmock came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Tewkesbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barney Dimmock couldn't finish the play. 2-1 became the score in the 55th minute when Barney Dimmock elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Denzil Alsop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Denzil Alsop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darren Furniss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Tom Grigg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Copenhagen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Grigg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jude Marriott ran back to his position shaking his head. Doug Chegwyn hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Grigg got free with Sidney Groom in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tom Grigg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Sidney Groom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
