A collision led to Falcons FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Phil Eagles hit a great ball. After 23 played minutes Falcons FC got a freekick which was hit by Jay Power. Reuben Carpenter kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Verne Barr in the 26th minute of play forced Milton City's goalkeeper Ged Downton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Verne Barr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stuart Haskell hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The supporters of Falcons FC booed when Milton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phil Newby didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Verne Barr ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ged Downton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Piers Whittaker charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Piers Whittaker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.

The wind increased when Verne Barr made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Milton City's Ged Downton got control of the ball when Verne Barr tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Falcons FC's Verne Barr in 59 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Ged Downton guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Stuart Haskell made in the 61st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Guy Fitzsymon. Verne Barr blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ged Downton having to make a save. When Phil Newby fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Milton City's protests and gave Phil Newby a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Falcons FC booed when Milton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phil Newby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giles Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ged Downton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Milton City's zone, Giles Branson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ged Downton came out of the goal and Giles Branson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Verne Barr recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 75 played minutes, Milton City's Stuart Haskell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomas Denham came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Milton City reached it. Thomas Denham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Carpenter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Verne Barr came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Falcons FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Verne Barr couldn't finish the play. Milton City's Ged Downton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Verne Barr in the 80th minute of play. Falcons FC's Verne Barr got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Giles Branson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 91st minute. Falcons FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Milton City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Verne Barr scored to the left of an out of position Ged Downton, making the score, 1-2. After 95 minutes, Donald Godfrey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Falcons FC and the Milton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Falcons FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Sam Hart hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reuben Carpenter in the 99th minute of play forced Falcons FC's goalkeeper Thomas Denham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Falcons FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
