Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damian Pryor started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phil Eagles during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Falcons FC got a freekick which was hit by Phil Eagles. In the 5th minute Damian Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Denham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Keyworth's goalkeeper Bill Coulson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Verne Barr. Bill Coulson stood somewhat misplaced when Verne Barr came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 10 minute. In the 14th match minute, Keyworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franz Nightingale to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giles Branson in the 15th minute of play forced Keyworth's goalkeeper Bill Coulson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Damian Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Denham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giles Branson struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Bill Coulson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Falcons FC. Thomas Denham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franz Nightingale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 35 in the game by Verne Barr from a close distance when the talented Bill Coulson managed to make a qualified save. Keyworth's players were relieved. Keyworth's Bill Coulson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Keyworth from getting a goal against them. Verne Barr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bill Coulson having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Stu Dryden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Verne Barr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Verne Barr was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Falcons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Pryor came free, but Thomas Denham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Falcons FC's Jay Power got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Craig Bonds was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Thomas Denham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Sargent in the 61st minute of play. When Jay Power fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Falcons FC's protests and gave Jay Power a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Falcons FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jay Power to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Keyworth booed when Falcons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Hart didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Falcons FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Jay Power hit a great ball. Brandon Lonsdale struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
