Verne Barr blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Warren Ford having to make a save. Warren Ford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Verne Barr, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Giles Branson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Warren Ford. Morpeth's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giles Branson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The attack was good, but when Verne Barr in the 20th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 22nd minute, Verne Barr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Verne Barr came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Falcons FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Verne Barr couldn't finish the play. Verne Barr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Verne Barr might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Warren Ford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Verne Barr ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd minute Verne Barr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Warren Ford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Verne Barr's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Warren Ford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Verne Barr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Morpeth's goalkeeper Warren Ford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 45 minutes, Sam Hart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Falcons FC and the Morpeth players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Falcons FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sam Hart to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ross Townsend was the one to do the kick off. Donald Godfrey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Denham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ross Townsend, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Falcons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ross Townsend came free, but Thomas Denham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Morpeth booed when Falcons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jay Power didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnathon Smith charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johnathon Smith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Morpeth's Johnathon Smith got a free kick in the 77th minute. Sam Hart was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 79 played minutes Falcons FC got a freekick which was hit by Sam Hart. 82 minutes into the match, Falcons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ross Townsend came free, but Thomas Denham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Donald Godfrey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Falcons FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Morpeth.
