Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trey Cheeseman started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Malmesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trey Cheeseman to maneuver through the defense. Harry Blake sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ged Coates received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Brandon Rush tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stewart Endean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nathan Pringle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trey Cheeseman in the 11th minute of the match. Malmesbury's Brandon Rush played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Endean in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Malmesbury's zone, Stewart Endean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brandon Rush came out of the goal and Stewart Endean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brandon Rush made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Blake in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chaz Atkins during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Malmesbury's Chaz Atkins got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 22 minutes, Stewart Endean made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Malmesbury's Brandon Rush tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th match minute, Malmesbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Salmon to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Ged Coates managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stamford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ged Coates was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brandon Rush breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute Harry Blake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Rush saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stewart Endean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Brandon Rush tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Malmesbury's Philip Salmon got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Ged Coates ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brandon Rush was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Brandon Rush came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Stamford United's Stewart Endean. But to his dismay, Stewart Endean quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 42 played minutes Stamford United got a freekick which was hit by Ged Coates. When Ged Coates came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Stamford United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ged Coates couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the match, Kris Grainger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brandon Rush. Malmesbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kris Grainger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After the first half Stamford United were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stewart Endean made a kick off. After some careless play in the Stamford United defense, Basil Moody kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nathan Pringle. The Stamford United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nathan Pringle should have stopped the shot. Stewart Endean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ged Coates struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Brandon Rush didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stamford United. In the 58th minute, Stewart Endean ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brandon Rush was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmesbury's goalkeeper Brandon Rush, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Stewart Endean dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Brandon Rush, 1-6. After 67 played minutes Malmesbury got a freekick which was hit by Jamie Vine. Stamford United's Stewart Endean got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malmesbury's Brandon Rush played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Grainger in the 73rd minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Kris Grainger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Brandon Rush was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Stewart Endean in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brandon Rush, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ged Coates blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brandon Rush having to make a save. Joe Langdon struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Brandon Rush didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stamford United. The supporters of Malmesbury booed when Stamford United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Cooke didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Kris Grainger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stamford United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kris Grainger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Harry Blake cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8.
