Norman Chegwyns short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Lucas Fleetham to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 17 minutes into the match, Kendal's goal looked a bit too open when Jo Deighton came free, but Antonio Roma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Roma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominic Davison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norman Chegwyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Lucas Fleetham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Jo Deighton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vince Hurdle hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the game, Norbury's Jo Deighton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Roma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Lucas Fleetham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathon Morley in the 41st minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norman Chegwyn was the one to do the kick off. Dominic Davison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Antonio Roma made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jo Deighton in the 62nd minute of play forced Kendal's goalkeeper Antonio Roma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Fleetham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norman Chegwyn went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 75 minutes into the match, Norman Chegwyn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lucas Fleetham. Norbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Norman Chegwyn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Dominic Davison's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Antonio Roma firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Jo Deighton fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norbury's protests and gave Jo Deighton a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes Norbury got a freekick which was hit by Jo Deighton. Norbury succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Kendal had controlled the match.
