But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zane Bray couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the match, Kendal's goalkeeper Antonio Roma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfred Beesley. The audience was convinced that Norman Chegwyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Den Cryer was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Antonio Roma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rick Bayliff in the 13th minute of the match. The referee showed Liam Lilley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes Hanworth got a freekick which was hit by Liam Lilley. Glenn Best scored 1-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Roma, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Norman Chegwyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Den Cryer was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Antonio Roma made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Alfred Beesley sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Hanworth's Sly Warner got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Kristopher Busby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alfred Beesley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. In the 40thth minute of the game Norman Chegwyn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hanworth's Den Cryer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Den Cryer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman Chegwyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

55 minutes into the match, Kendal's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn Best came free, but Antonio Roma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Liam Lilley got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 58th minute, Liam Lilley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kristopher Busby fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hanworth's protests and gave Kristopher Busby a yellow card for diving instead. Kristopher Busby hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Norman Chegwyn took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Den Cryer. Den Cryer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Norman Chegwyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kendal's attentive Denis Davey managed to snatch the ball when Sly Warner made a throw-in in the 68th minute of the game. Denis Davey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Den Cryer having to interfere. If Alfred Beesley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norman Chegwyn in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Den Cryer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Hanworth booed when Kendal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Chegwyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfred Beesley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Antonio Roma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Den Cryer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Norman Chegwyn in the 82nd minute. Alfred Beesley might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonio Roma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfred Beesley ran back to his position shaking his head. Alfred Beesley scored 2-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Roma, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfred Beesley in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antonio Roma saved Kendal from getting behind. Kendal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
