Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Adam Gold made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2nd match minute, Padiham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Gold to maneuver through the defense. Marc Featherstone came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Padiham's Ronnie Church. But to his dismay, Ronnie Church quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. With a little luck, Venture Electronics's Marc Featherstone got control of the ball when Ronnie Church tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Venture Electronics's Damien Case got a free kick in the 29th minute. Marc Featherstone stood somewhat misplaced when Ronnie Church came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 30 minute. After 33 played minutes Venture Electronics got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Crittenden. In the 40th minute of the match Ron Chadwick sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trev Parsons skillfully saved the ball. Marc Featherstone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Gold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronnie Church sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giles Seward made a kick off. Marc Featherstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronnie Church in the 61st minute of the match. When Max Sykes fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Padiham's protests and gave Max Sykes a yellow card for diving instead. When Giles Seward came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Venture Electronics fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giles Seward couldn't finish the play. Giles Seward's late challenge caught a Padiham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giles Seward helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venture Electronics's Giles Seward got a free kick in the 79th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Venture Electronics's zone, Ronnie Church stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marc Featherstone came out of the goal and Ronnie Church tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marc Featherstone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Gold's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Ronnie Church received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Marc Featherstone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adam Gold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Adam Gold's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marc Featherstone was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Padiham's Adam Gold got a free kick in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Padiham had won after a very even match.
