After a rather tough play, Padiham's Matty Cummings got a free kick in the 19th minute. Ronnie Church received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Venture Electronics's Ron Chadwick couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Padiham. When Den Laycock fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venture Electronics's protests and gave Den Laycock a yellow card for diving instead. Adam Gold might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marc Featherstone. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adam Gold ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Padiham getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Max Sykes hit a great ball. Den Laycock kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the game, Giles Seward cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Trev Parsons was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 88 minutes, Adam Gold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padiham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adam Gold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marc Featherstone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Sykes, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 95thth minute of the game Adam Gold who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venture Electronics's Marc Featherstone was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Ronnie Church had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of Padiham's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Padiham may have spent more time on the ball, but Venture Electronics were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
