The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Andriy Vaskovets the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Slovjjansjk protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Andriy Vaskovets had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Vladyslav Ivakhnyuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saulius Kilčiauskas having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matviy Khrystus in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fedir Dordytsya prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Grygoriy Sopkiv hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Fedir Dordytsya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matviy Khrystus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fedir Dordytsya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bogdan Khrienko, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Slovjjansjk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladyslav Ivakhnyuk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
