Mykhaylo Lelyuk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Pasquarelli's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carl Ancelotti in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mykhaylo Lelyuk saved FC Lviv from getting behind. FC Lviv's Mykhaylo Lelyuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Pasquarelli in the 14th minute of play. César Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the game, CSKA's Alexander Pasquarelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mykhaylo Lelyuk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Emil Veenema received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Omar Lauren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ostap Babych made a great header on CSKA's corner, it was just that FC Lviv's Mykhaylo Lelyuk managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 39th minute, Ostap Babych made a precise shot to the right of Mykhaylo Lelyuk. FC Lviv's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Thanks to some nice moves Valeriy Dyachenko could shoot a difficult shot in the 59th minute, which Mykhaylo Lelyuk however easily saved by the left post. Emil Veenema fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Lauren having to interfere. Mykhaylo Lelyuk was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Alexander Pasquarelli capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexander Pasquarelli really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Valeriy Dyachenko scored 0-5 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mykhaylo Lelyuk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 72nd minute, Carl Ancelotti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Alexander Pasquarelli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mykhaylo Lelyuk. That made the score 1-6 in the 78 minute of play. Carl Ancelotti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Ancelotti got free with Mykhaylo Lelyuk in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Igor Chekh during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of CSKA booed when FC Lviv was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Chekh didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to CSKA getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Níels Nesta hit a great ball. After 87 played minutes CSKA got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Pasquarelli. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valeriy Dyachenko got free with Mykhaylo Lelyuk in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. César Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The CSKA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CSKA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
