After 7 played minutes Meteor got a freekick which was hit by Kostyantyn Zavershenyuk. Oleg Nagirnyak received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stanislav Androschuk came out and tried to block the shot, but Oleg Nagirnyak slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, Meteor's Kostyantyn Zavershenyuk got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tykhon Famulyak in the 21st minute of play forced Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's goalkeeper Vasyl Levyga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th match minute, Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yaroslav Gibalyuk to maneuver through the defense. If Sebastian Dammer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eduard Yefymenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Stanislav Androschuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Oleg Nagirnyak took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Stanislav Androschuk to make any attempt to save it. In the 39th minute, Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's Oleg Nagirnyak ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stanislav Androschuk. Stanislav Androschuk yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Stanislav Androschuk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eduard Yefymenko in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oleg Nagirnyak to make the kick off. Oleg Nagirnyak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Tykhon Famulyak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasyl Levyga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marjan Zdebskyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vasyl Levyga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marjan Zdebskyi in the 65th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's zone, Tykhon Famulyak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vasyl Levyga came out of the goal and Tykhon Famulyak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Meteor's Stanislav Androschuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oleg Nagirnyak in the 72nd minute of play. Stanislav Androschuk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Platon Zakharchenko in the 74th minute of the match. Stanislav Androschuk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olexandr Yermak in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute Olexandr Yermak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Androschuk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Meteor's goal looked a bit too open when Olexandr Yermak came free, but Stanislav Androschuk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute Eduard Yefymenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Androschuk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Platon Zakharchenko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanislav Androschuk. Meteor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Platon Zakharchenko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Sebastian Dammer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vasyl Levyga came out and tried to block the shot, but Sebastian Dammer slotted it home off the left post making it 5-2 in the 86th minute. The supporters of Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar booed when Meteor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marjan Zdebskyi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vasyl Levyga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marjan Zdebskyi in the 96th minute of play. Meteor's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
