An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduard Yefymenko in the 17th minute of play forced Kremenec's goalkeeper Randolf Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Tim Granerud notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's Vasyl Levyga. Vasyl Levyga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Zakhar Balanchuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tim Granerud stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kirovhrad FC Shakhtar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kremenec the free kick.
