Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Akay Sorgun started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Binali Çolakoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tahtakale's supporters rose to their feet, but Binali Çolakoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Bülent Kayıhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Akay Sorgun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nusrettin Sevimli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Burak Temren in the 12th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Akay Sorgun got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to Tahtakale getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ceyhan Baykurt hit a great ball. Tahtakale's Nusrettin Sevimli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Burak Temren in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Tahtakale getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Mehmet Hakkı Hızır hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Burak Temren made a precise shot to the right of Nusrettin Sevimli. Tahtakale's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Nusrettin Sevimli came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by GALATASARAY SK's Yağızalp Sıbgatullah. But to his dismay, Yağızalp Sıbgatullah quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 34 minutes into the match, Edorta Aguilar notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Tahtakale's Nusrettin Sevimli. Nusrettin Sevimli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Akay Sorgun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Bülent Kayıhan having to interfere. GALATASARAY SK were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Tahtakale's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Baturhan Ergüder took the corner. Baturhan Ergüder made a great header on GALATASARAY SK's corner, it was just that Tahtakale's Nusrettin Sevimli managed to reach the ball for a save.
Binali Çolakoğlu charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Binali Çolakoğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of GALATASARAY SK booed when Tahtakale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Binali Çolakoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Yağızalp Sıbgatullah came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the GALATASARAY SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yağızalp Sıbgatullah couldn't finish the play. In the 58th match minute, Tahtakale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arif Memduh Uçma to maneuver through the defense. Mehmet Hakkı Hızır hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Burak Temren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Burak Temren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Akay Sorgun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Binali Çolakoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Tahtakale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Binali Çolakoğlu couldn't finish the play. Nusrettin Sevimli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edorta Aguilar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute of the match GALATASARAY SK got a corner. Tahtakale's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Baturhan Ergüder ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akay Sorgun in the 84th minute of play forced GALATASARAY SK's goalkeeper Ahmet Bülent Kayıhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Burak Temren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nusrettin Sevimli was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. After a rather tough play, Tahtakale's Ceyhan Baykurt got a free kick in the 97th minute. GALATASARAY SK's Baturhan Ergüder shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 98th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nusrettin Sevimli but with some difficulty. When the match was over GALATASARAY SK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tahtakale throughout the match.
