İbrahim Yağızer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hayyam Durusan in the 6th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Nazım Oğuzata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nazım Oğuzata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mustafa Hakan Yazır scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of İbrahim Yağızer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute Hayyam Durusan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İbrahim Yağızer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Feyzullay İçöz's late challenge caught a Palermo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hayyam Durusan might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over İbrahim Yağızer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hayyam Durusan ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg İbrahim Yağızer managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Palermo's Hayyam Durusan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 90 minutes into the game, one of Kula:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 92 minutes, Palermo's Genco Yasun got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of İbrahim Yağızer. Palermo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
