In the 13th minute, Sreten Popovic left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Serbia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's 김 조 got a free kick in the 16th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 김 우. 여 유 made in the 26th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by 김 조. The crowd rose to their feet as 김 우 kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. That made the score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United's 김 시. But to his dismay, 김 시 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The nice shot from 김 우 in the 38thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cvijetin Nanusevski hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sreten Popovic to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that 김 우's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 김 우 took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Serbia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 김 시 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by 김 우 in the 83rd minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Serbia booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. 김 우 didn't get a good kick on the ball.
