Ahmet Ziya Argun made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Gökberk Özender sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Galatasaray getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Mecnun Güngör hit a great ball. Giray Türkoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abdülhak Ulvi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hacı Ali Yakup during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Behram Özduru was the one to do the kick off. Abdülhak Ulvi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giray Türkoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Gökberk Özender managed to get in a good position for a shot.
