In the 3rd minute Cabbar Akıncıbey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayrettin Yanık saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Galatasaray SK's goal looked a bit too open when Mustafa Orhan Özsungur came free, but Hayrettin Yanık reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aykutalp Şahin made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Andrea Di Natale sent off a good shot on target. Aykutalp Şahin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrea Di Natale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 minutes, Gaffar Yeler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catalpinar and the Galatasaray SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Catalpinar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galatasaray SK:s goal. In the 21st minute, Bektaş Veli Yağızalp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aykutalp Şahin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustafa Orhan Özsungur during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 27 minutes, Andrea Di Natale made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Catalpinar's Aykutalp Şahin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hayrettin Yanık took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cabbar Akıncıbey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 minutes of play, Galatasaray SK's Bektaş Veli Yağızalp made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aykutalp Şahin was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrea Di Natale in the 46th minute of play forced Catalpinar's goalkeeper Aykutalp Şahin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bektaş Veli Yağızalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Aykutalp Şahin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Onuralp Raif to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Catalpinar's Cabbar Akıncıbey got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Aykutalp Şahin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bektaş Veli Yağızalp in the 58th minute of play. Catalpinar's Aykutalp Şahin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrea Di Natale in the 63rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Andrea Di Natale put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Aykutalp Şahin. Cabbar Akıncıbey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hayrettin Yanık having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Catalpinar's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea Di Natale came free, but Aykutalp Şahin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrea Di Natale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aykutalp Şahin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. If Andrea Di Natale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Binali Bilek came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Galatasaray SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Binali Bilek couldn't finish the play. Andrea Di Natale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aykutalp Şahin having to interfere. Galatasaray SK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
