Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Efekan Durukan in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Merih Hasret prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The GalataSaray A.Ş. fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when GalataSaray A.Ş.'s Efekan Durukan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Zülfikar Maruf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Merih Hasret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yıldıray Öksal came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mürsel Mansız could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, GalataSaray A.Ş.'s İdris Adısönmez got a free kick in the 47th minute. A hard shot by Necmi Erdemir from long distance, 48 minutes into the match, got Mürsel Mansız's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
