İzmirspor's Şerafettin Safa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save İzmirspor from getting a goal against them. Şerafettin Safa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Behzat Ünsevin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Sulusaray's Behzat Ünsevin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Şerafettin Safa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 22 minutes into the game, Özden Timurhan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sulusaray's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave İzmirspor the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sulusaray fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! The referee gave İzmirspor a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abayhan Otay, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sulusaray's Behçet Kamuran. 0-1. After some careless play in the İzmirspor defense, Onuralp Sefa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Şerafettin Safa. The İzmirspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şerafettin Safa should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Behzat Ünsevin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şerafettin Safa was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Göktuğ Irgatbaşı in the 33rd minute of play forced Sulusaray's goalkeeper Behçet Kamuran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Behzat Ünsevin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yakup Kadri Tanbey kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The corner ended in Recai Kamber almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but İzmirspor's Şerafettin Safa did a great save. İzmirspor's Şerafettin Safa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Behzat Ünsevin in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Ahmet Göktuğ Irgatbaşı recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Behzat Ünsevin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Sulusaray's Onuralp Sefa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Şerafettin Safa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Şerafettin Safa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Behzat Ünsevin in the 68th minute of the match. Abayhan Otay's late challenge caught a Sulusaray's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abayhan Otay helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd match minute, İzmirspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abayhan Otay to maneuver through the defense. Onuralp Sefa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yakup Kadri Tanbey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Behçet Kamuran having to interfere. Ahmet Göktuğ Irgatbaşı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Behçet Kamuran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yakup Kadri Tanbey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Ahmet Göktuğ Irgatbaşı could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Behçet Kamuran however easily saved by the left post. Şerafettin Safa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Behzat Ünsevin's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
