After 3 minutes, Nizam Eskici made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. İzmirspor's Şerafettin Safa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 7th play minutes Nizam Eskici shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Şerafettin Safa and just under the crossbar into goal. Nizam Eskici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şerafettin Safa having to interfere. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind İzmirspor's goalkeeper Şerafettin Safa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mehmet Oğuz Çağar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Serbülent Akartürk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Atilla Bumin Revis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sezai Tacik charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sezai Tacik the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes İzmirspor got a freekick which was hit by Sezai Tacik. In the 31st minute Ertaç Kumuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şerafettin Safa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in METU CRP's zone, Raşit Bağcı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eser Canfer came out of the goal and Raşit Bağcı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the İzmirspor defense, Nizam Eskici kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Şerafettin Safa. The İzmirspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şerafettin Safa should have stopped the shot. 46 minutes into the match, METU CRP's Mehmet Oğuz Çağar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Şerafettin Safa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Raşit Bağcı made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, İzmirspor's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Serbülent Akartürk fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nizam Eskici let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 59th minute shot 0-4 at rihgt post. Birkan Temizalp took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Şerafettin Safa. İzmirspor's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eser Canfer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Göktuğ Irgatbaşı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Ahmet Göktuğ Irgatbaşı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eser Canfer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ertaç Kumuk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Şerafettin Safa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, İzmirspor's Şerafettin Safa got control of the ball when Nizam Eskici tried to sneak it across the goal line. Serbülent Akartürks short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Şerafettin Safa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Nizam Eskici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Nizam Eskici sped through İzmirspor's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Şerafettin Safa. METU CRP's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
