The referee ignored Karaman's protests and gave Muzaffer Akçınar a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Karaman got a freekick which was hit by Muzaffer Akçınar. Arif Cengiz Türkeş's late challenge caught a SAKARYASPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arif Cengiz Türkeş helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Karaman getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Arif Cengiz Türkeş hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SAKARYASPOR's zone, Muzaffer Akçınar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lemi Tuğcu came out of the goal and Muzaffer Akçınar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lemi Tuğcu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kadri Ramazan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karaman's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
