Karasu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FENERBAHÇE FC the free kick. A collision led to Karasu getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. When Talip Seyyid came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the FENERBAHÇE FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Talip Seyyid couldn't finish the play. Gaffar Nizam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erkut Ahi in the 97th minute of play. Karasu's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
