Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Işıkalp Umman put it in 2-5 from a short distance just to the right of İbrahim Efe Adalıoğlu. Mete Metin might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hüseyin Rahmi Ilgaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mete Metin ran back to his position shaking his head. Hüseyin Rahmi Ilgaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerry Sheppard in the 96th minute of play. The Sason FK players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
