They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdulbaki Toprak was the one to do the kick off. Birdal Sarphan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Tolga Doğulu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kutalp Soysan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Berkem Çapan hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Ahmet Kağan Keçecioğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saffet Sefik in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, GALATASARAY GS's Akın Baştürk got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 65 minutes, Edip Taşcıoğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uzundere and the GALATASARAY GS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, GALATASARAY GS's Batur Vefi tried to score from far away in the 66th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Saffet Sefik's late challenge caught a GALATASARAY GS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
