The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cesur Tuney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Gerze's zone, Göksun Sebuktekin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bünyamin Başayoğlu came out of the goal and Göksun Sebuktekin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bünyamin Başayoğlu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Göksun Sebuktekin's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After 12 played minutes, Edirnekapi's Karhan Berat shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bünyamin Başayoğlu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Edirnekapi reached it. When Behçet Ülgenalp came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Gerze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Behçet Ülgenalp couldn't finish the play. Anıl Ozan Kurtuluş hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Arda Ozan Tarık managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gerze's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arda Ozan Tarık was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Edirnekapi's Nuri Orkan got a free kick in the 27th minute. Mazhar Kürşat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Behçet Ülgenalp in the 28th minute. After some careless play in the Gerze defense, Pars Ağaverdi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bünyamin Başayoğlu. The Gerze fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bünyamin Başayoğlu should have stopped the shot. After 44 minutes, Arda Ozan Tarık mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gerze and the Edirnekapi players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Gerze:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Edirnekapi:s goal. Güntekin Sarpkan placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pars Ağaverdi to strike the kick off in the second half. Sermet Özberk was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Pars Ağaverdi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 56th minute. Edirnekapi's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gerze's Bünyamin Başayoğlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Gerze from getting a goal against them. Pars Ağaverdi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bünyamin Başayoğlu having to make a save. After 75 played minutes Edirnekapi got a freekick which was hit by Karhan Berat. Bünyamin Başayoğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Göksun Sebuktekin in the 80th minute. Müslüm Tanır struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Mazhar Kürşat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gerze. Göksun Sebuktekin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bünyamin Başayoğlu having to interfere.
