Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tugay Ökkeş started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Cemberlitas SK getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Reşat Gülsoy hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes Gediz got a freekick which was hit by Hıdır Taylak. Atilla Mirac was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 10th minute. Cemberlitas SK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Atilla Mirac blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aktan Can having to make a save. Cemberlitas SK's Servet Tekiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgun Hancı in the 15th minute of play. Servet Tekiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olgun Hancı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Olgun Hancı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olgun Hancı in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Servet Tekiner saved Cemberlitas SK from getting behind. Cumali Ergümen hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd match minute, Gediz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gürbüz Zeyrek to maneuver through the defense. Servet Tekiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tugay Ökkeş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Haluk Baturalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gediz's zone, Atilla Mirac stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aktan Can came out of the goal and Atilla Mirac tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Olgun Hancı came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Gediz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olgun Hancı couldn't finish the play. Cemberlitas SK's Servet Tekiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgun Hancı in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Tugay Ökkeş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Servet Tekiner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atilla Mirac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktan Can having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Atilla Mirac was the one to do the kick off. Cemberlitas SK's Servet Tekiner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Cemberlitas SK from getting a goal against them. Servet Tekiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tugay Ökkeş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 minutes, Mustafa Oğuz Lütfullah mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gediz and the Cemberlitas SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cemberlitas SK booed when Gediz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Oğuz Lütfullah didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Atilla Mirac fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cemberlitas SK's protests and gave Atilla Mirac a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Atilla Mirac hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aktan Can took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haluk Baturalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tugay Ökkeş came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Gediz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tugay Ökkeş couldn't finish the play. If Tugay Ökkeş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77thth minute of the game Haluk Baturalp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gediz's Aktan Can was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Haluk Baturalp struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Aktan Can didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cemberlitas SK. Haluk Baturalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktan Can having to interfere. Atilla Mirac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Haluk Baturalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aktan Can having to interfere. Olgun Hancı's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Servet Tekiner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Cemberlitas SK's Haluk Baturalp got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
