The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Recep Altun made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Catak's zone, Baskın Özgenay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Recep Altun came out of the goal and Baskın Özgenay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baskın Özgenay who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Recep Altun when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Alkan İkbal came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Baspinar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alkan İkbal couldn't finish the play. Catak's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baspinar the free kick. Resul Semi hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Baspinar's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
