Izmir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Konyaalti the free kick. In the 8th match minute, Izmir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mümtazer Sağman to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Erkan Yalçınkaya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Özgür Teren was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Güntekin Altıparmak took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Özgür Teren. After 23 played minutes, Konyaalti's Güntekin Altıparmak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Özgür Teren came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Konyaalti reached it. Konyaalti's Esen Timurcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Harun Kayacan in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Selahaddin Gulabi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Konyaalti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Selahaddin Gulabi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Özgür Teren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erkan Yalçınkaya in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Mümtazer Sağman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erkan Yalçınkaya stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Izmir's Özgür Teren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erkan Yalçınkaya in the 53rd minute of play. If Erkan Yalçınkaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Özgür Teren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erkan Yalçınkaya in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Konyaalti's Erkan Yalçınkaya dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. A collision led to Izmir getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Mümtazer Sağman hit a great ball. Bulut Hepyener received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Esen Timurcan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Harun Kayacan in the 77th minute of play forced Konyaalti's goalkeeper Esen Timurcan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esen Timurcan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bulut Hepyener's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Berkan Mazhar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Konyaalti's supporters rose to their feet, but Berkan Mazhar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Özgür Teren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Konyaalti's Özgür Teren threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Erkan Yalçınkaya, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 85th minute, Alican Sudi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Özgür Teren was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cenk Toktamış. In the 92nd minute, Bulut Hepyener hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erkan Yalçınkaya who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Özgür Teren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Konyaalti's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
