Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Erberk İmamoğlu got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, MERSİNSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Erberk İmamoğlu came free, but Gündüz Özercan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trabzonspor's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Şimşek Öz scored to the left of an out of position Haldun Yağınalp, making the score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Şimşek Öz managed to get in a good position for a shot. MERSİNSPOR's supporters rose to their feet, but Şimşek Öz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haldun Yağınalp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Haldun Yağınalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şimşek Öz in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Christian Montrel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Haldun Yağınalp. Christian Montrel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Trabzonspor's zone, Şimşek Öz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haldun Yağınalp came out of the goal and Şimşek Öz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Şimşek Öz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haldun Yağınalp having to interfere. Viviano Morientes hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, MERSİNSPOR's Kutalp Savtur seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kutalp Savtur the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of MERSİNSPOR protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kutalp Savtur had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in MERSİNSPOR fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! Trabzonspor were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after MERSİNSPOR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Erberk İmamoğlu took the corner. In the 39th minute Şimşek Öz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haldun Yağınalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şimşek Öz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Şimşek Öz to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes MERSİNSPOR got a freekick which was hit by Şimşek Öz. Şimşek Öz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haldun Yağınalp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Trabzonspor got a freekick which was hit by Merih İnciroğlu. Haldun Yağınalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şimşek Öz in the 82nd minute of play. Haldun Yağınalp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. There was no doubt that MERSİNSPOR were the better team. MERSİNSPOR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
