Ergin Hoyrat hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Atilla Kağan Hasankeyf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Seyit Akboy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. İsa Geçer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seyit Akboy having to interfere. Enis Besim charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enis Besim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ceylanpinar getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Sancar Ünal hit a great ball. Seyit Akboy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İsa Geçer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cemal Ekşioğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. İsa Geçer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Seyit Akboy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erkin Borans short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Arkın Kınık to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cemal Ekşioğlu in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arkın Kınık saved Sivasspor from getting behind. Murat Selim Şevki kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. When Erkin Boran came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Ceylanpinar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erkin Boran couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute Cemal Ekşioğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arkın Kınık saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sivasspor fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! Arkın Kınık showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cemal Ekşioğlu in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cemal Ekşioğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cemal Ekşioğlu in the 54th minute of play forced Sivasspor's goalkeeper Arkın Kınık to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Erkin Boran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arkın Kınık saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arkın Kınık made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cemal Ekşioğlu in the 56th minute of play. Cemal Ekşioğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arkın Kınık having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Cemal Ekşioğlu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arkın Kınık. Sivasspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cemal Ekşioğlu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Kasım Buğdaycı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Seyit Akboy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, Ceylanpinar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sancar Ünal to maneuver through the defense. Kasım Buğdaycı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seyit Akboy having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sivasspor defense, Erkin Boran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arkın Kınık. The Sivasspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arkın Kınık should have stopped the shot. Arkın Kınık stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cemal Ekşioğlu's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. If Erkin Boran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cemal Ekşioğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Arkın Kınık tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arkın Kınık made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erkin Boran in the 97th minute of play. Ceylanpinar were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
