The referee ignored cimbombom's protests and gave Süreyya İzzet a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes cimbombom got a freekick which was hit by Süreyya İzzet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fevzi Mustafa in the 31st minute of play forced Gökceada's goalkeeper Enginalp Eraslan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Mustafa Namık Askeroğlu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
