The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Başaran Özdoğan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ataman Coşkun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Catalca:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SCHOLAR CLUB:s goal. Mehmet Ali Başel shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 6th minute, Birdal Akar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Başaran Özdoğan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ataman Coşkun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Başaran Özdoğan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ataman Coşkun was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Doğa Karaca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Hacı Ali Tancan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ataman Coşkun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emir Tokuz's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute, Catalca's Abbas Yaltır ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hacı Ali Tancan. Hacı Ali Tancan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doğa Karaca in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hacı Ali Tancan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ertunç Akpınar struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Hacı Ali Tancan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catalca. The supporters of Catalca booed when SCHOLAR CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mithat Tuncer didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Doğa Karaca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SCHOLAR CLUB's Hacı Ali Tancan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save SCHOLAR CLUB from getting a goal against them. Başaran Özdoğan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ataman Coşkun having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, SCHOLAR CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mithat Tuncer to maneuver through the defense. When Doğa Karaca came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Catalca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doğa Karaca couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Emir Tokuz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ataman Coşkun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Doğa Karaca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, SCHOLAR CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Doğa Karaca came free, but Hacı Ali Tancan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ertunç Akpınar in the 58th minute of play forced SCHOLAR CLUB's goalkeeper Hacı Ali Tancan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ertunç Akpınar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ataman Coşkun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emir Tokuz went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 67 minutes, Mithat Tuncer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SCHOLAR CLUB and the Catalca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 67 played minutes SCHOLAR CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Mithat Tuncer. When Mehmet Ali Başel fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SCHOLAR CLUB's protests and gave Mehmet Ali Başel a yellow card for diving instead. Mehmet Ali Başel kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Tamer Vedatoğulları took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hacı Ali Tancan. SCHOLAR CLUB's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ataman Coşkun came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by SCHOLAR CLUB's Emir Tokuz. But to his dismay, Emir Tokuz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Başaran Özdoğan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ataman Coşkun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Başaran Özdoğan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Catalca supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SCHOLAR CLUB's performance. The match ended with a win for SCHOLAR CLUB.
