The supporters of Trabzon FC booed when Sorgun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kıvanç Ustaoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Songurbey Tumbay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hurşit Akasoy having to interfere. Trabzon FC's Songurbey Tumbay got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ahmet İlke Kabataş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timur Yorgun having to interfere. If Ahmet İlke Kabataş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bayındır Talip during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Trabzon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bayındır Talip to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Sorgun getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Duran Bilge hit a great ball. Hurşit Akasoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tayyar Çinuçin in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Kıvanç Ustaoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sorgun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kıvanç Ustaoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Trabzon FC's goalkeeper Timur Yorgun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute Ahmet İlke Kabataş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timur Yorgun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şenel Yürükoğlu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Hurşit Akasoy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 38 played minutes Sorgun got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet İlke Kabataş. In the 41st minute, Kıvanç Ustaoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet İlke Kabataş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Timur Yorgun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Duran Bilge made the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd match minute, Trabzon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tayyar Çinuçin to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Duran Bilge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timur Yorgun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hurşit Akasoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Songurbey Tumbay in the 79th minute of play. Timur Yorgun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duran Bilge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hurşit Akasoy came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Trabzon FC's Songurbey Tumbay. But to his dismay, Songurbey Tumbay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 85 minutes into the game, Şenel Yürükoğlu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trabzon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sorgun the free kick. A collision led to Trabzon FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Şenel Yürükoğlu hit a great ball. When Ahmet İlke Kabataş came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Sorgun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet İlke Kabataş couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Şenel Yürükoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Trabzon FC's Songurbey Tumbay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hurşit Akasoy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Arif Tugay Boran fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sorgun's protests and gave Arif Tugay Boran a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Trabzon FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sorgun had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
