Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Melikgazi's Alparslan Muhittin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bayhan Gazzali in the 5th minute of play forced Kecierengücü's goalkeeper Hurşit Ünver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Melikgazi's zone, Aykutalp Şahbaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tanju Baltacı came out of the goal and Aykutalp Şahbaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aykutalp Şahbaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kecierengücü's Hacı Ali Egin was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tanju Baltacı in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mansur Nurbay hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The supporters of Melikgazi booed when Kecierengücü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fahri Ulukan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alparslan Muhittin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kecierengücü's Aykutalp Şahbaz got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Melih Tahir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melih Tahir blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tanju Baltacı having to make a save. A collision led to Melikgazi getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Şahap Rasi hit a great ball. Aykutalp Şahbaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Aykutalp Şahbaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kecierengücü's supporters rose to their feet, but Aykutalp Şahbaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tanju Baltacı breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melih Tahir was the one to do the kick off. Şahap Rasi hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aykutalp Şahbaz in the 56th minute of play forced Melikgazi's goalkeeper Tanju Baltacı to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bayhan Gazzali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hurşit Ünver having to interfere. Alparslan Muhittin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Melih Tahir came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Kecierengücü fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melih Tahir couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the match, Melikgazi's goal looked a bit too open when Melih Tahir came free, but Tanju Baltacı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Kecierengücü's Gencay Ehil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alparslan Muhittin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hurşit Ünver read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
