Çaykur Spor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Köksal Yergin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustafa Kemal Balbay during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th minute, one of Çaykur Spor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Çaykur Spor. The referee gave Güclükonak a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Samim Mete, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Çaykur Spor's Zekeriya Hepyener. 0-2. In the 30th minute, Köksal Yergin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ömer Çiftçioğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Özdemir Taykut in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Çaykur Spor booed when Güclükonak was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alpay Turabi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Özdemir Taykut managed to get in a good position for a shot. Çaykur Spor's supporters rose to their feet, but Özdemir Taykut was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ömer Çiftçioğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Çaykur Spor's Şehzade Gözlem got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Çaykur Spor's goal looked a bit too open when Şamil Akdoruk came free, but Zekeriya Hepyener reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
