The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gökçen Serhad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Poyraz Işınbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hüsnü Özonder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mehmet Şefik Saygılı in the 5th minute. Rüknettin Canaydin hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when Kirklareli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muhittin Bilek didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's Haşim Bucak broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ayberk Kuvvet dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hüsnü Özonder, 1-0. Mehmet Şefik Saygılı in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hüsnü Özonder, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ayberk Kuvvet in the 25th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Hüsnü Özonder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Balamir Ahsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Hüsnü Özonder made a huge save. Ayberk Kuvvet received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hüsnü Özonder came out and tried to block the shot, but Ayberk Kuvvet slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 28th minute. Asaf Öztunç hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Güral Özver hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match, Balamir Ahsen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hüsnü Özonder was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 38 minutes into the game, Erdem Sidar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kirklareli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galatasaray the free kick. In the 38th match minute, Kirklareli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erdem Sidar to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Şefik Saygılı got free with Hüsnü Özonder in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Balamir Ahsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Hüsnü Özonder made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Mehmet Şefik Saygılı could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Hüsnü Özonder however easily saved by the left post. In the 47th minute, Balamir Ahsen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hüsnü Özonder was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ayberk Kuvvet to make the kick off. Oğuzhan Işınay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökçen Serhad having to interfere. Hüsnü Özonder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Balamir Ahsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hüsnü Özonder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Şefik Saygılı in the 62nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kıvanç Koçak in the 69th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Hüsnü Özonder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Galatasaray getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Pars Yıldız hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes, Kirklareli's Erdem Sidar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hüsnü Özonder came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kirklareli reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehmet Şefik Saygılı in the 73rd minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Hüsnü Özonder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Galatasaray defense, Mehmet Şefik Saygılı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hüsnü Özonder. The Galatasaray fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hüsnü Özonder should have stopped the shot. After 78 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Asaf Öztunç. In the 80th minute of the match Erdem Sidar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hüsnü Özonder skillfully saved the ball. Hüsnü Özonder came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Kirklareli's Ayberk Kuvvet. But to his dismay, Ayberk Kuvvet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 84 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Şefik Saygılı came free, but Hüsnü Özonder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oğuzhan Işınay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gökçen Serhad having to interfere. Hüsnü Özonder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balamir Ahsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Kirklareli fully deserved thier win.
